Since my earliest childhood, I have been interested in music. I took music lessons at the Conservatoire of Montauban.
I furthered my learning with three years at the school of music of Mirecourt where I played with various chamber ensembles.
My passion for wood and its work began very early as my father, a cabinetmaker, took me to his workshop to work with him.
I graduated in 2011 from France´s National School of Lutherie (Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume) in Mirecourt and moved to Montpellier to continue learning the making of violins, altos and cellos under Frédéric Chaudière.
I am now at fulltime in my own workshop which I opened in 2012.
My instruments are on display in Montpellier, Paris, Washington DC, Seattle, New-York, South-Korea and in Japan.
L'ATELIER
Located near the historic quarter of Montpellier, a stone´s throw away from the Opéra Comédie, my workshop is on a quiet street which offers a good environment to design and make my instruments.
The way I make my instruments and my design are mostly inspired by the great Italian masters of the Renaissance who defined the standards of lutherie
The observation of ancient instruments inspires me to look for the best wood, the most beautiful models and the best architecture for the arching.
All my work is done with sharp tools like planes, gouges but also self-made knives and flat gouges.
I also prepare my varnishes from oil and different resins to be able to influence their colour, transparency, flexibility or hardness.

I make violins, altos and cellos by hand to remember the way the making of quatuor instruments was thought in the 17th and the 18th century, which was the era of the great italian masters like Stradivari or Guarneri. The instruments of Guarneri Del Gésù inspire me a lot with their dark and powerful timbres.
Imitating or getting inspired by centuries-old models is not enough. I am always looking for new features. I also design models of violins, altos and cellos in which I translate what I have learned from old my masters and my vision of what can make them better.
I take great care of choosing the right wood which I can buy personally in Italy to be sure of its quality. I also make some of my tools for them to adapt perfectly to my hands. I also prepare my varnishes from oil and different resins to be able to influence their colour, transparency, flexibility or hardness.
